The ramblings and mumblings of a wannabe poker pro

Arrggghh!

Arggghh, I can’t get used to this new mouse, just played for an hour and had a ton of time outs due at least in part to it bugging me so much. I am really hoping I can get used to it, as I like the unifying concept and it looks good. Managed to loose another 1.5 BI’s in this short session too, only 560 hands so lol and all that, but I’m getting pretty tired of all of this “never winning”.

Worst thing is I feel really tired, so can’t really grind through it. Hopefully I’ll be able to catch some sleep shortly so that I can put in a few hours later on, naturally I’m also hoping I stop sucking so huge.

Happy New Year everyone.

Supplementary Goals and Updates for New Year

My new mouse finally arrived today, its going to take a little getting used to, but I’m really happy with it, I am already regretting purchasing a backup wired keyboard a little as now I’ve found a unifying keyboard to match my mouse and the cost of the keyboard have just bought will go a large part of the way towards the new wireless one I will inevitably end up ordering soon, but it’ll come in handy if my wireless keyboard breaks or I get a laptop and want to use a full sized keyboard, etc.

Here’s a picture of the new mouse, and the keyboard I will likely purchase in the new year:

Logitech Marathon Mouse M705Logitech K340 Wireless Keyboard

and whilst I’m at it here’s a picture of the new desk chair I hope to buy next month:

I’ve also thought of a few new supplementary goals for the New Year:

  1. Minimum of 2 MTT’s per month
  2. Play the Million $ Turbo Take Down at least every other month

Home Poker

Just got back in from a home game, 10nl cash format with a few friends, mostly 4 handed. We don’t play all that often and I managed to spew 6 full BI’s a couple of weeks back, so I had a little something to prove today at least to myself.

After playing really bad online for months in all honesty, I think I can safely say I played the t session of poker in a v.long time, despite being really tired after no sleep. I played really tight for my usual standards in our home games, and worked hard at avoiding the spew, yet also looking out for good spots to 3b, squeeze and c/r, etc. I pulled off flop c/r in a 3b pot (only folded A high, but got a fold from the range I expected), I also managed at least one light 3b over the evening, and left feeling very pleased with how I played, despite loosing a stack on the final hand, when my aces up couldn’t hold.

Huge thanks to those who attended xxx
