Sitting out to Improve
I was dissapointed with my play during yesterday, particularilly during the late evening. I succesfully butchered several key pots, all in the same manner, by not protecting my hand when I had the lead, and then paying off my opponents once they improved.
Overall though I have been really pleased with the win rate I have been maintaining since I started my grind again and limited my self to no more then 2 tables. When I go through sessions like these though it reminds me that I can increase it yet further, simply by avoiding these periods of foolishness, or not sitting in a game at all if I am unlikely to be playing at my past.
All very standard stuff, that we’ve all heard and said numerous times, but its good to remind ourselves of how easily we can cut into our win rate by periods, however brief of poor play, to take that point a little further, sometimes the best thing to increase your win rate is to not play at all. Getting some hands in, when your tired or frustrated, never really works out, you alwasy play longer then you planned and its a slippery slope, where you may even think your playing well, but come morning you’ll be regretting you even took a seat.
May the fish be with you xxx
