I have just signed of my 3rd session of the day, and this was a much better finish, picked up a buy-in and half, putting me back just over 4 buy-ins from my $220 target. I’ve got just over 6k hands left before I would like to have reached my BB/100 target of 10, and to ensure I get there, I really need to focus hard in every session I plan to sit down in, as I think I’m still loosing small amounts here and there within my sessions.
Going from 10 to 20 BB/100 within the next 20k hands though will be the real challenge though, and I think the only way I can achieve that is by studying some math and ensuring I’m making optimal bet sizes and not calling bets with the incorrect odds, etc.

So I finally get round to sitting in my first session of the day, and I’m looking forward to a nice run towards my target again, but nope it wasn’t to be, I’m stacked twice within 200 hands. A brave call gives me a little back but I’m still down 1.5 buy-ins. I’m taking a break now, hopefully I’ll get some more play in later, as I’m busy for a few days from tomorrow.
Here’s a few hands :
This was the first big pot I was involved in, and I had noticed the initial raiser, raise loosely with hands like KT and QT from any position, and he had shown tendencies to call down with only 2nd pair if he hit the flop. My re-raise was pretty small, but I wanted to be sure the loose guy would stay in the hand, though having seen him call of $1 with QTs, I probably should have raised more pre-flop to isolate him.
On the flop, I’m just hoping the short stack pushes, he does close enough, and the loose guy calls as I knew he would. My first though is fuck do I really want to play a big pot against a calling station on this board, then I almost slap myself for being soft, and push as I know he’s calling if he has hit anything on the flop, on the river my stack is gone.

The play at the 1c/2c games has been horrifically poor over the last few days, here’s another prime example. I’m not complaining of course, its just rather interesting that the donkey factor seems to have gone through the roof.

This was a brave call, maybe too brave. It just stood out has odd.

Flopped quads for the first time in a while here and hoped someone would pick up something and build a pot. I make a huge all-in R/R on the river, hoping he’s got something he will felt with, but nope not this time. I felt if he’s calling a re-raise here, he’ll call a push, and feel the 10c or so I may loose by not making a minimum raise he might call is easily worth it for the time he thinks I’ve let his flush get there, etc… any thoughts?

This was the end that resulted in the early finish to my session. I flop a set on a suited board. My first thought was that I’ll call the flop and stack against a non-club turn. His bet doesn’t give me that option so I’m all-in. Sure he could have flopped a flush, but I have outs if he does and his range for this bet is a lot wider then that, he has been betting huge on the flop pretty regularly. I’m sure the river sealed it for me, but I was wrong, another buy-in down.

So things arn’t going my way lately. My previous session was very long and very dull, where the passive players just seemed to have it at the end, this session I’m building big pots with the right hands against the right people, but I’m not taking the money home at the end. Its more then a little frustrating, but there isn’t much I can do about it besides take a break and keep on playing.
