The ramblings and mumblings of a wannabe poker pro

What To Do…

I’ve started to think, as I often do about where to take my poker. What should I be doing and where should I be doing it. As I mentioned in a recent comment I’ve draw up a rough game plan of what I expect to be focusing on, but after some games today I’m already wondering if that should be changed.

I’ve just played two $5 single table sit ‘n go’s for instance on Poker Stars. I only made 7th in each, and it took an hour to get to that point. Usually with a $1 sit ‘n go they will last between an hour and an hour and a half for the whole thing, with even two table events not lasting much longer usually. So I am beginning to wonder if playing $5 single table sit ‘n go’s should be my main priority on Poker Stars. If they are going to take an hour or more to reach short handed, then I feel will have no choice but to multi-table them for the time commitment to be worth it, and thats something I didn’t want to have to do initially.

So I’m now back to thinking I should leave the single table events alone and concentrate on the two table sit ‘n go’s. The increase in payouts makes these more worthwhile, as in my experience they don’t usually take much longer then a single table event.

Then I wonder about the cash games, its not long ago where I decided to concentrate on cash games once I’ve earned my bonus, so maybe I should, stick with the 1c/2c NL full ring tables for a while and try and build a bankroll that way. I can always play the occasional sit ‘n go out of the days profits.

I’m happy with my aims for Full Tilt Poker at the moment, but I’m seriously beginning to wonder what I should be doing on Poker Stars when I earn my bonus.
