The ramblings and mumblings of a wannabe poker pro

Overting Disaster

Its been an up and down morning so far. It started off well with two wins in heads-up NL Sit ‘n Go’s, but I blew my 3rd on a bluff, and then lost two back to back single table $1 Sit ‘n Go’s almost immediately.

In both situations, the question “should I have gotten away from that” immediately popped into my head. With the first hand, in a $1 Sit ‘n Go, I’m torn between fully expecting my TPTK to be up against a reckless AJ or KQ, etc or that I should have accepted the fact that one of these guys is capable of calling with a 3. I was surprised by what the guy turned over, but more importantly, should I have gotten away from this?

The second hand is more of the same, just a lot uglier. It was actually the very first hand. With recent loose calls in the previous game, I opted for a larger then average raise, and junk still called from the BB. I think my flop c-bet was fine, but on the turn should I have looked to check this down, fold to a bet?
