The ramblings and mumblings of a wannabe poker pro

October 09 Results, November 09 Targets

October 2009 didn’t start off very well for me, I lost maybe 3 BI’s IIRC in the first 150 hands or so and then promptly became so ill I couldn’t play for over two weeks. There was definitely light at the end of the tunnel though, maybe I needed a break, maybe it was moving up to 50 again, who knows but despite a slow start things started to fall back into place for me this month and I am very happy on all counts. Considering how disappointed I have been lately, the last two weeks have been amazing :-)

I even managed a little bum hunting at 100nl and 200nl. Here’s my results and graphs:

EDIT:  Forgot to mention my impulse buy last night, finally treated myself to a 28″ monitor :-) and I’ve just realized I didn’t put up any goals for next month, I’ve gotta run out now I’ll get that done soon, GL in November everyone xxx.

  1. Hey Lucky,

Congrats on your new monitor. Playing hours of poker online and using a crappy monitor isn’t the way to go.

So just curious how did it go at $100NL & $200NL are the games different? How did you feel about playing at those limits?

  2. Firstly, I’ve just plugged in my new monitor and wow!, trouble is its way brighter then my other, and it takes it more depth of my tiny desk, so now I have to adjust to using it, and I’ll probably have to hmmm, I might slip a board under it to extend my desk, as being 3″ from a 28″ monitor can’t be good for your eyes lol.

I hate getting used to new things, it is really cool for the money though, gives me way more real estate and is big enough that I can actually use the max resolution, which is also full HD :-)

Anyway, I’ve bum hunted at 100 a few times, though never for long, and now that I am grinding 50 I don’t mind doing that more often. 200 was new though, I wasn’t bothered at first as it was a really good table, but realizing I had at the time about 10% of my bankroll on one table, I decided to walk away, really didn’t want to, but I didn’t want to tilt by loosing that much at that time.

My 100 and 200 tables have all been really soft, so I can’t comment on how they are generally, though I can see there are plenty of fish that love to give you money lol.

… and OMG this monitor will take some getting used to!
